Long Range Plan Approach

As part of the planning process, the City is working to understand the needs of residents and businesses going forward. The planning process included: needs assessment; facilities assessment, analysis, plan development, public input and implementation.

The 20-year, integrated Solid Waste Management Plan addresses all components of an integrated solid waste management system including:

    • Eliminating the amount of waste generated
    • Reuse
    • Recycling
    • Recovering various wastes for other uses
    • Assuring long-term disposal capacity
    • Sustained operation of solid waste services
