John Serrano

John Serrano erves as the Senior Staff Analyst for the Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities where he oversees the Pedestrian Accessibility Review Program. He works closely with the Office of the City Engineer, the Planning and Development Department, and Houston Public Works to ensure that new projects that impact the public-right-of-way follow accessibility guidelines and design standards, and that public-facing facilities remain accessible to and usable by people with disabilities.

He holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Houston – Victoria and has over a decade of experience in planning, designing, and managing public infrastructure projects for the City of Houston. He is a certified Project Management Professional, ADA Coordinator, and Envision Sustainability Professional, and is a member of the American Public Works Association and the American Planning Association.
