Anataja Harris

Anataja HarrisAnataja Harris has joined the Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities as a Customer Service Representative. She is excited to serve the disability community through communication, connection, and compassion. Anataja has a background in customer service, hospitality, and logistics. In her previous employment, she received her Braille Transcriber Certification and had an apprenticeship in Graphic Design. She has collaborated alongside many passionate individuals in the braille industry, providing educational tools for the nation’s students who are blind and low vision.

As a Braille Transcriber, Anataja spent several years learning uncontracted and contracted braille which is a system that uses raised dots to represent letters, numbers, symbols, and punctuation. She worked in the Tactile Graphics Department. Anataja enjoyed being a part of a team dedicated to providing accessible reading material for all learners.

Anataja has an Associate’s in Interdisciplinary Studies from Central Texas College and intends to pursuing a Bachelor’s in Business Administration as the next steps in her professional journey.
