City Announces Fourth Round of Arts Grants for 2019
December 20, 2019 -- The Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs is happy to announce another group of recipients of Let Creativity Happen! competitive grants.
A total of $55,000 will support 22 creative and innovative projects throughout the City of Houston.The $2,500 grants were awarded in 9 of the 11 council districts.
Funded by the City of Houston Occupancy Tax dedicated to the arts, Let Creativity Happen! is administered by The Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs with the Houston Arts Alliance.
“As we close out the second year of this grant program, the exponential growth of applications highlights the importance of supporting the innovation of Houston’s artists,” The Mayor said. “This ‘express’ grant-making approach is fueling new art experiences for visitors and residents across the breadth of the city.”
MOCA congratulates all award recipients as they embark on their projects and thank them for their dedication to the arts and cultural vitality of Houston for its visitors, creatives, and Houstonians.
