Service Updates
As our crews work to get caught up on heavy trash collections, starting on Monday, 3/10, there will be a transition from all-inclusive heavy trash removal to normal tree waste only pick up. Please see the link to the guidelines.
If you have extra waste, outside of the guidelines, please consider using one of our convenient drop-off locations.
Daylight Saving Time
EFFECTIVE SUNDAY, March 9, 2025, all Neighborhood Depository hours of operation have been updated due to the start of Daylight Saving Time.
HOURS:
Tuesday- Sunday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Closed on Monday
Week of March 10th- March 15th
- Garbage collection is on schedule.
- Recycling collection may be up to two days late throughout the city. Please set out your recycling on your scheduled date/time to avoid a missed pick-up.
- Heavy Trash collection in the southeast quadrant will begin its third-week collection on Monday, while collection in the southwest quadrant will begin its fourth-week collection on Monday. Heavy trash collection for the northeast quadrant will begin first-week MARCH collection on Monday. February bulk waste heavy trash is being completed, and tree waste collection for March has started. Please note that March heavy trash pickup will only include tree waste.
- Yard waste services are delayed.

The City of Houston Solid Waste Management Department (SWMD), in partnership with Cyclyx, ExxonMobil, and LyondellBasell, is excited to announce the expansion of the All-Plastics acceptance program at all six Neighborhood Depositories drop-off centers starting on April 16, 2024.
